List of required documents

- Birth certificate;
- For UVT graduates of undergraduate studies from the current year, the document is not mandatory, and can be taken from the existing file for the undergraduate studies cycle;
- Marriage certificate - if applicable;
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or diploma equivalent to it, accompanied by the supplement to the diploma, or certificate of completion of undergraduate university studies, accompanied by the transcript, for candidates who graduated from undergraduate university studies in the current year; UVT graduates of undergraduate studies in the current year do not need to upload the certificate of completion of undergraduate studies and the transcript on the admission platform in order to apply for master's studies in the same year, the results of the final examination of undergraduate studies , respectively the average of the years of undergraduate university studies, being taken over in the candidate's file directly by the admission committees of the UVT faculties;
- Medical certificate issued by the family doctor
- no older than 90 days from the date of its presentation at the document collection office, which certifies whether the candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the chronic conditions from which the candidate suffers (neuropsychiatric, psycho-pathological, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, handicap (type, degree) etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc.) or possible special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;
- Certificate attesting to the completion of another master's degree program
- (finalized or not at the time of submitting the file), which should mention the funding regime in which each year of studies was completed (with funding from the state budget/with a fee, if it is/was carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) and, if applicable, the years and semesters of studies in which the student benefited from the scholarship, respectively its type – if applicable.

- (in the Letter of Intent, the candidate presents the intentions and motivation for the choice made in relation to the master's program to which he/she is applying).
Recognition and equivalence of studies
- Candidates who are Romanian citizens or citizens of EU member states, the EEA and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens
Candidates who are Romanian citizens or from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and their family members, as beneficiaries of Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01 (British citizens who are in Romania and continue to reside on the territory of Romania after the end of the transition period of the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union, established according to Article 126 of the Withdrawal Agreement for December 31, 2020, their family members who accompany them or who join them after the end of the transition period if they had the status of family members before its end, as well as children born or adopted after the end of the transition period, provided that proof of registration from the General Inspectorate of Immigration within the Ministry of Internal Affairs is presented), who completed their high school studies outside Romania, as well as those who hold study documents issued by education providers that provide pre-university education activities based on a curriculum of another state, on the territory of Romania, must present, additional documents above, and the equivalence/recognition document of studies issued by National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED).
In the case of recognition documents issued online by the specialized departments within the Ministry of Education and Research, they are uploaded in electronic format to the admission platform by the candidate, within the deadline established for registration by the own regulation regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of each faculty, and do not require certification according to the original by UVT operators. The necessary documents and the procedure for the equivalence of studies completed outside Romania are mentioned in Appendix 2 a Regulations of the West University of Timisoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the bachelor's degree level.
In accordance with the Order of the Minister of Education No. 4.620 of June 6, 2024 on the approval of the Methodology for the recognition and equivalence of pre-university level study documents obtained abroad and at education providing organizations that provide pre-university education activities based on a curriculum of another state, on the territory of Romania, the files for the recognition of studies of Romanian citizens and from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and their family members who fall under the conditions mentioned in this annex, are submitted:
online, through the electronic Single Point of Contact (ePCU);
through pre-university education units, higher education institutions, county school inspectorates or the School Inspectorate of Bucharest Municipality;
at the Registry of the Ministry of Education and Research or through postal services.
- The steps for the recognition and equivalence of studies will be carried out through the International Relations Department (DRI) of UVT, by submitting a file for equivalence, which will be subsequently transmitted, by the DRI, to MEC-CNRED, to the email address: international@e-uvt.ro
- DRI will maintain communication with CNRED and the applicant and will issue the latter a certificate attesting that his/her academic documents have been sent for recognition and equivalence to MEC-CNRED.
- Based on this certificate, the candidate can participate in the admission sessions in July or September, being exempt from the obligation to present a certificate/attestation of equivalence at the time of admission.
- This certificate will be accompanied by the other documents required for the admission process specific to each faculty, according to the UVT Regulation on the organization and conduct of the admission process for undergraduate university study programs, and will also be signed by the applicant.
- This will therefore also represent a declaration on one's own responsibility by which the candidate, if admitted, undertakes to submit to the Student InfoCenter the Provisional Certificate/Certificate issued by MEC-CNRED by the start of the academic year (29.09.2025) if the student was admitted in the July admission session, respectively by 31.10.2025 if the student was admitted in the September admission session, otherwise losing his/her student status.
- Authentication of educational documents subject to recognition/equivalence
- Diplomas from the Republic of Moldova do not require apostille or legalization. Diplomas issued before 2008 (as well as diplomas issued after 2008 that cannot be verified through the portal) will be accompanied by a copy of the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, starting from 01.04.2019.
- For states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, educational documents subject to equivalence/recognition must be endorsed with the Hague Apostille by the competent authorities in the issuing countries; educational documents from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus will be endorsed with the Hague Convention Apostille, other EU member states being exempt.
- For states that are NOT parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, educational documents will be legalized or will be accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the competent authorities in the country of origin:
- the over-legalization is applied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and the Embassy/Consular Office of Romania in that country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and its Embassy/Consular Office in Romania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania; for countries where there are no diplomatic missions of Romania or which do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the study documents will have the visa of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country;
- the exemption from over-legalization is permitted under the law, an international treaty to which Romania is a party or on the basis of reciprocity

How is the admission average calculated?
Admission score calculation method:
- Bachelor's degree exam average – weighted at 40%
- grade on the file – 30% weight
- CV evaluation (results obtained, including awards and distinctions obtained in national or international competitions),
- analysis of the content of the letter of intent (with emphasis on the motivation for choosing the program),
- level of English language proficiency (based on the language proficiency certificate),
- elements of compatibility of the completed bachelor's program with the chosen master's program.

- the ability to answer questions regarding the motivation for choosing the study program as well as general knowledge in the field of the master's program is assessed
- for study programs organized in English the interview will be conducted in English

Tax exemption
(1) At the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science registration fee for the admission competition for master's degree studies is 200 lei, and registration fee is 250 lei, in accordance with the decisions of the UVT Senate. The registration fee for the admission competition is paid only once per faculty, regardless of the number of master's degree programs in which the candidate has enrolled within the same faculty. If the candidate has enrolled in university study programs from different faculties, then he will pay the registration fee for each faculty. If the candidate enrolls and wishes to simultaneously follow two master's degree programs at UVT, he will submit an application on the admission platform for each of these programs and will pay the corresponding registration fee for each of them. These fees are made public on the website of the West University of Timisoara.
(2) The categories of candidates exempt from paying the registration fee for the admission process to master's degree studies, based on the supporting documents uploaded on the online admission platform, are:
- the children of the entire pre-university education staff (teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff and non-teaching staff) in activity or retired;
- the children of the entire staff of the university education (teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff, non-teaching staff and from the central university libraries) in activity or retired;
- all staff in higher education and central university libraries;
- candidates with one or both deceased parents, as well as those from single-parent families;
- candidates from placement centers / social protection system;
- candidates at risk of losing their ability to meet daily living needs due to illness (proven by a medical certificate certifying a chronic condition), disability (proven by an appropriate certificate), poverty (proving that they benefited from a social scholarship in the last year of high school studies, in the case of candidates who graduated from high school in the current promotion, or through other supporting documents through which they benefited from financial support from the Romanian state), according to the decision of the admission committee at the faculty level;
- athletes with outstanding performances (athletes of CSU-UVT, of the clubs and sports sections with which UVT has collaboration agreements, medalists at national, European and world competitions - at the proposal of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports);
- candidates who were declared class leaders (class of 2025) at the level of a bachelor's degree program at the West University of Timisoara (UVT).
(3) Athletes with outstanding performances (athletes of CSU-UVT, of sports clubs and sections with which UVT has collaboration agreements, medalists at national, European and world competitions - at the proposal of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport) and candidates who have been declared class leaders (class of 2025) at the level of a bachelor's degree program within the West University of Timișoara (UVT) are exempt from paying the registration fee for master's degree studies.
(4) The exemption from the payment of these fees is made only on the basis of the supporting documents uploaded by the candidates on the online admission platform and presented in original at the points where the documents required for the admission process are collected from the UVT offices or from the county admission centers organized by UVT. The approval of the exemption is made by Admissions Committee at the faculty level, by validating them on the online admission platform.
(5) Candidates from third countries of the EU, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation pay an admission competition registration fee of 100 euros (for processing the file in order to organize admission).
(6) Upon confirmation of the place obtained following the admission competition, in accordance with the admission process calendar referred to in Article 7 of these regulations, candidates declared admitted pay the registration fee.
(7) Until July 23, 2025, for the July admission session, and until September 17, 2025, for the September admission session, students admitted to the master's degree program on fee-paying places are required to pay 30% of the annual tuition fee. In case of non-payment within the established deadline, the student will lose their assigned place.
