The distance learning form confers the same diploma as in the case of studies in the full-time form of education and the curricula and courses are identical to those in the full-time form of education. The difference lies in the number of face-to-face meetings with teachers. The meetings will take place physically and online depending on the specifics of the discipline and are scheduled at the end of the week (Friday afternoon/Saturday/Sunday). Online meetings can also be held during the week, in the second part of the day. The materials will be available through the e-learning platform used by UVT https://elearning.e-uvt.ro/.

The main mission of the Computer Science study program is to train computer science specialists who possess solid computer science knowledge and the ability to apply it to solving specific problems in different fields. The program aims to provide the knowledge and skills that will allow graduates to easily integrate into the IT industry, but also the opportunity to continue their professional training through master's programs and subsequent integration into a research activity in the field of theoretical and applied computer science. The objective of the Computer Science study program is to provide graduates with:

Theoretical and practical knowledge regarding: 

• analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of computer applications
• analysis, modeling, interpretation and evaluation of complex systems
• problem analysis and building abstract models/formal models/computational models
• use of theoretical concepts from computer science
• the structure and operation of a computing system
• data storage, organization and processing

• implementing applications in specific programming languages
• verification and testing of computer applications
• planning the design and implementation of computer applications
• configuration and integration of computer systems/software systems
• design and development of software architectures for data organization and processing
• computer network administration
• preparation of documentation and provision of consultancy in the field
