Erasmus+ program

Erasmus + is the EU programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 1288/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 establishing the action "Erasmus+": the Union Programme for education, training, youth and sport and repealing Decisions No. 1719/2006/EC, No. 1720/2006/EC and No. 1298/2008/EC. The Erasmus+ programme is designed to support the efforts of the countries participating in the programme to make effective use of Europe's human talent and social capital, while confirming the principle of lifelong learning by linking support to formal, non-formal and informal learning in the fields of education, training and youth. The programme also improves cooperation and mobility opportunities with partner countries, particularly in the fields of higher education and youth.

The Erasmus+ program offers grants for the following types of mobility:

  • study mobilities for students (SMS);
  • placement mobility for students (SMP);
  • mobility of teaching staff for teaching purposes (STA);
  • staff mobility for training purposes (STT).

According to the Erasmus+ Programme Guide issued by the European Commission and made available are here by the National Agency for Community Programmes in the Field of Education and Vocational Training (ANPCDEFP), all types of mobilities are carried out on the basis of inter-institutional agreements that establish the conditions for carrying out individual mobilities, agreements signed by an institution that holds an Erasmus+ University Charter, such as UVT, and an institution from:

  • countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme (Programme Countries): EU member states, EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and countries affiliated to the Erasmus+ Programme (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey);
  • Erasmus+ partner countries (Partner Countries): countries outside the European area, other than those mentioned above.

Using ERASMUS, you can study for a period of time at the West University of Timișoara.

  • Erasmus offers financial support to study at our university (please check with your university's international office for details of the scholarship they can offer you);
  • The study period is one or two semesters;
    Courses successfully completed here will be recognized by your university based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
